Comforting Pasta Sausage Delight

A creamy and satisfying pasta dish made with tender chicken sausage and a rich tomato-based sauce, perfect for comforting family meals.

Ingredients

  • Pasta – 400 g (14 oz) penne or rigatoni

  • Chicken sausage – 450 g (1 lb), sliced

  • Olive oil – 2 tablespoons

  • Onion – 1 medium (150 g / 5 oz), chopped

  • Garlic – 4 cloves, minced

  • Crushed tomatoes – 400 g (14 oz)

  • Heavy cream – 240 ml (1 cup)

  • Chicken broth – 120 ml (½ cup)

  • Parmesan cheese – 60 g (½ cup), grated

  • Italian seasoning – 1 teaspoon

  • Paprika – ½ teaspoon

  • Black pepper – ½ teaspoon

  • Salt – to taste

  • Fresh parsley – 2 tablespoons, chopped

Instructions

  • Cook pasta in salted boiling water until al dente. Drain and reserve 120 ml (½ cup) pasta water.

  • Heat olive oil in a skillet and brown chicken sausage for 5–7 minutes. Remove and set aside.

  • In the same skillet, cook onion until soft. Add garlic and cook briefly.

  • Stir in crushed tomatoes, broth, seasoning, salt, and pepper. Simmer for 8–10 minutes.

  • Reduce heat and add cream and Parmesan, stirring until smooth.

  • Return sausage and pasta to the skillet and toss to combine. Add pasta water if needed.

  • Garnish with parsley and serve warm.

Notes

  • Freshly grated Parmesan provides the best flavor and texture.
