Decadent Creamy Tomato Garlic Rigatoni Pasta Surprise

A comforting and indulgent pasta dish featuring rigatoni coated in a rich tomato garlic cream sauce.

Ingredients

·         400 g rigatoni pasta

·         2 tablespoons olive oil

·         5 cloves garlic, minced

·         1 medium onion, chopped

·         800 g canned crushed tomatoes

·         1 tablespoon tomato paste

·         1 teaspoon sugar (optional)

·         1 teaspoon dried Italian seasoning

·         ½ teaspoon red pepper flakes (optional)

·         240 ml heavy cream

·         60 g grated Parmesan-style cheese

·         Salt, to taste

·         Black pepper, to taste

·         Fresh basil or parsley, chopped

Instructions

1.      Cook rigatoni in salted boiling water until al dente. Reserve 120 ml pasta water, then drain.

2.      Heat olive oil in a pan and sauté onion until soft.

3.      Add garlic and cook briefly until fragrant.

4.      Stir in crushed tomatoes and tomato paste; simmer 10–12 minutes.

5.      Season with sugar, Italian seasoning, red pepper flakes, salt, and pepper.

6.      Lower heat and stir in cream.

7.      Add cheese and mix until melted.

8.      Toss pasta with sauce, adding pasta water if needed.

9.      Simmer briefly and garnish with herbs before serving.

Notes

Adjust seasoning to taste and add vegetables or herbs for variation. Store leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator and reheat gently.
