A comforting pasta dish featuring tender shrimp tossed in a rich garlic butter sauce, perfect for both everyday dinners and special occasions.

Ingredients

  • Shrimp – 500 g / 1 lb, peeled and deveined

  • Spaghetti or linguine – 400 g / 14 oz

  • Unsalted butter – 60 g / 4 tbsp

  • Olive oil – 2 tbsp

  • Garlic – 6 cloves, minced

  • Red chili flakes – ½ tsp (optional)

  • Lemon juice – 2 tbsp

  • Fresh parsley – ¼ cup, chopped

  • Salt – 1½ tsp, or to taste

  • Black pepper – 1 tsp

  • Reserved pasta water – 120 ml / ½ cup

Instructions

  • Cook pasta in salted boiling water until al dente. Reserve pasta water and drain.

  • Season shrimp with salt and pepper.

  • Sauté shrimp in olive oil and half the butter until just cooked. Remove and set aside.

  • Add remaining butter and garlic to the skillet and cook briefly until fragrant.

  • Toss pasta with the garlic butter sauce, adding pasta water as needed.

  • Return shrimp to the skillet and mix gently.

  • Finish with lemon juice and parsley. Serve immediately.
