Ground beef: 500 g (1 lb)
Olive oil: 2 tablespoons
Onion, finely chopped: 1 medium (150 g / 5 oz)
Garlic cloves, minced: 4 cloves
Heavy cream: 480 ml (2 cups)
Beef broth: 240 ml (1 cup)
Tomato paste: 2 tablespoons
Grated Parmesan-style cheese: 100 g (1 cup)
Paprika: 1 teaspoon
Dried Italian-style herbs: 1 teaspoon
Salt: 1 teaspoon
Black pepper: ½ teaspoon
Butter: 2 tablespoons
Fresh parsley, chopped (optional): 2 tablespoons
Cook pasta in salted water until al dente. Reserve 120 ml (½ cup) pasta water and drain.
Heat olive oil in a skillet and brown beef for 6–8 minutes.
Add onion and cook 3–4 minutes, then add garlic for 30 seconds.
Stir in tomato paste, paprika, and herbs; cook 1 minute.
Add beef broth and simmer 2–3 minutes.
Lower heat, add cream and butter, and stir until smooth.
Add pasta and toss gently, adjusting consistency with reserved water.
